The aim of this study is to provide a conceptual theoretical insight of the relationship between EI and leadership. The paper also reflects the conditions within the present business environment in Slovakia with the emphasis on leadership in the context of EI (based on the research conducted in this field), while answering the following question: to what extent do Slovak organizations incorporate EI measures into the hiring process for managerial positions?
